Blackjack Cowboy

Book Five, Story Four

Blackjack Cowboy is a beautiful black stallion of the Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse breed. When I first saw Cowboy at a distance, his beauty and elegance took my breath away…I just had to meet him! It was at an event where I was selling my children’s books and I left my table, walked right over to Cowboy, and petted him and talked to him. Only after my time with Cowboy did I introduce myself to his owner, Konny Troupe. Konny and I have since become good friends…I always love to visit her and Cowboy! Konny shared a story with me about her grandmother, Kathryn, and Cowboy and I included that story in this book before Story Five, “Honor Your Elders.”

What Our Readers Say…

Paul Pintarch, “Pappy”, to granddaughters Kenzie and Lily
Hummelstown, PA
Recently I took the opportunity to read the first story of Book One, “Shiloh and the Barn Mouse”. I thought I would read it first before reading it to my granddaughters. That story was heartwarming and very touching. It also had me thinking about the times I get scared, and how I felt and still feel at times. I thought it was an excellent story of confidence. That little Loco sure knew a big amount about confidence.
